Job Overview:
The Logistics Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the daily implementation of logistics management activities, which include procurement, distribution, Asset Management, and routine checks. This position is essential for contributing to strategies that ensure the efficient and effective functioning of Logistics Operations. The Logistics Assistant will work closely with the logistics team to ensure adherence to NRC policies and guidelines, assist in the planning and delivery of logistics activities, and maintain accurate records of logistics operations. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in logistics processes. The Logistics Assistant will also be involved in various logistical tasks, including procurement processes, inventory management, and supplier evaluations, ensuring that all activities align with NRC's operational standards and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Assistant is responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines; supporting the implementation of the logistics portfolio according to the Action Plan; providing basic logistical Administration and support; preparing and developing status reports as required by management; ensuring proper filing of documents; assisting in the planning and delivery of logistics activities; maintaining logistics records, suppliers, and equipment; promoting ideas for improving logistics functions; and performing other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager. Specific responsibilities include conducting market studies and providing estimated prices for procurement; ensuring proper documentation for procurement processes; managing and following up on all procurement documentation; verifying invoice accuracy against orders and contracts; ensuring proper documentation for goods ordered and received from abroad; entering all required data into the Agresso procurement system; conducting minor purchases as needed; participating in supplier evaluations; ensuring proper storage and rotation of stock; supervising the packaging, loading, and unloading of materials; maintaining accurate inventory records; assisting in preparing payment documents for contracts; and conducting physical inventory counts at least twice a year.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Logistics Assistant position should possess a combination of professional competencies, including prior experience through internships or similar roles, experience in logistics functions within humanitarian contexts, and proven experience related to the responsibilities of the position. Knowledge of English is also beneficial. Specific skills and knowledge required include technical studies or ongoing studies in Business Administration, Logistics Management, International Business, or similar fields; experience in support management in humanitarian contexts; knowledge of Supply Chain Management; and proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Logistics Assistant position includes technical studies or ongoing studies in fields such as Business Administration, Logistics Management, International Business, or related areas. Candidates should have a solid understanding of logistics principles and practices, as well as relevant coursework that supports their ability to perform the duties of the role effectively.
