Amongst CARE International’s key imperatives in our mission is putting people it serves first through implementing cutting edge programming in areas it operates. CARE Lebanon has scaled up rapidly over the past few years and today it has solid annual budget with roughly 140 team members. Currently, CARE International presence is consolidated throughout the country working with multiple stakeholders. The main program sectors that CARE Lebanon is working in are; Protection, Gender, Economic Empowerment and Shelter. The interventions are implemented via local organizations. The CARE mission in Lebanon responds to multiple crisis: socio-economic crisis, effects of Beirut Explosion, Syria Response and Covid 19.

CIL Team had to undergo through a lot of changes in many levels, organizational, personal and social with everything that country has been undergoing in political, social and economic terms.

The senior and middle management team are fairly new as a team; however, they have developed a very good experience as organizational teams. As teams such as Senior Management Team (SMT), Expanded SMT, Project Managers (PMs) must manage new crisis in the horizon their leadership and managerial capacities are tested in many occasions. The need for the planning skillset has never been higher and pressing. Thus in line with this CIL is looking to contract a Leadership/management mentoring/coaching consultant that would helping to increase management team capacities in the field of planning, team management effectiveness, analytical skills-all with the aim on increasing team performance potential to maximum possibilities.

Mission’s Overall Objective

To strengthen mid-level and senior managerial capacities in the Lebanon multiple crisis times through managerial mentoring/coaching Specific objectives

Through systematic mentoring sessions:
  • Support alignment individual and organizational values and goals
  • Improve and strengthen ESMT and SMT performance at all levels in broad organizational goals
  • Provide tools and methodologies for self-management and good people management skills
  • Increase individual employee and organizational performance by shaping future jobs in CIL in line with the multiple crisis that the teams are facing
  • Enhance the staff ability to manage change, take risks, collaborate, build partnerships, and teams
  • Identify individual skillset and groom them for career growth within the organization
Methodology:

  1. Consultation CD, SMT, ESMT, PMs, etc.
  2. Understand well the current level of individual performances creating key teams such as Implementation Managers, ESMT and SMT.
  3. Map individual and organizational needs in management areas
  4. Analyze the team strengths, weaknesses and potential to reach new heights in the face of country turbulent times, combined with C 19
  5. Create a Mapping linking the current programs/operations, functions and individual mentoring programs
  6. De-briefing with CARE Lebanon SMT
Deliverables

  1. Tailor made plans for individuals and organizational team goals
  2. Develop comprehensive mentoring/coaching baseline and end line throughout series of sessions over 3 months.

TENTATIVE TIME FRAME:

2nd of April 2021-30th of June 2021 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of mentoring/coaching experience with senior and mid-level career professionals
  • Minimum of 10 + years in managerial practice, preferably in humanitarian/development sector
  • Very good understanding of international development affairs, preferably practice in INGO sector
  • Experience of dealing with complex individual and organizational matters
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Very good in conducting appreciative inquiries and mapping exercises
  • Good understanding of reaching High Performance parameters
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and writing skills)
  • Flexible, innovative and adaptable to dynamic changes and fast-paced work environment
DESIRABLE

  • Background in social studies
  • Expert in linking social dynamics to day-to-day work
  • Fluent in Arabic
