Job Posting Organization:
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian organization established to assist people forced to flee due to crises. NRC operates in multiple countries, providing Emergency and long-term assistance to millions of individuals annually. The organization is dedicated to advocating for the rights of displaced persons and has a global provider of expertise known as NORCAP, which enhances the capacity to respond to crises. NRC emphasizes diversity in its staffing, aiming for representation across age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, and physical ability.

Job Overview:
The internships at NRC's Head Office in Oslo are designed for students who are enrolled in a course of study at a Norwegian institution of higher education. These internships are integral to the students' academic programs and must provide study credits. The internships are unpaid and are expected to last a minimum of 8 weeks, with flexibility regarding class schedules and part-time jobs. Interns will engage in meaningful tasks beyond basic administrative duties, contributing to the humanitarian sector while gaining valuable experience in an international workplace.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in various tasks depending on their specific Internship positions. These may include supporting Social Media and communications efforts, assisting in advocacy initiatives, participating in Human Resources management, contributing to global finance projects, and engaging in Monitoring and Evaluation activities. Interns are expected to demonstrate independence, reliability, and a structured approach to their work. They will also be encouraged to learn and grow within their roles, contributing to the overall mission of NRC.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in a relevant course of study at a Norwegian higher education institution. They should possess a strong interest in humanitarian issues and demonstrate skills in Microsoft Office. Interns are expected to be independent, reliable, and eager to learn. Fluency in English is mandatory, and additional language skills may be beneficial.

Educational Background:
A relevant course of study at a Norwegian institution of higher education is required. The internship must be a part of the academic program and provide study credits, necessitating a tri-partite agreement between the university, the student, and NRC.

Experience:
While specific prior experience may not be required, candidates should demonstrate a genuine interest in humanitarian work and a willingness to engage in various tasks. The internships are primarily aimed at students, so professional experience may not be a prerequisite.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for all internship positions. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly in languages relevant to NRC's operations.

Additional Notes:
The internships will take place during the spring semester of 2025, starting at the end of January. Interns are encouraged to pursue full-time internships, but part-time arrangements can be accommodated. The internships are unpaid, but NRC provides free lunch in the head office canteen and personnel insurance coverage, including travel insurance for any necessary travel. Interested candidates must apply through the online application tool, attaching a cover letter and CV in English, and specifying their top three internship choices.
