Job Overview:
The Internship Position is situated within the Development and Communication department, which consists of 19 members. The Intern will report directly to the Regional Delegations and Events Officer, providing support in organizing events from the headquarters and developing regional volunteer delegations. The communication service is responsible for organizing events at the headquarters and overseeing regional delegations, which are teams of volunteers based in various regions conducting communication and awareness actions to promote the NGO and its missions to a broad audience. Currently, three regional delegations are active: Brittany, Pays de la Loire, and Île-de-France. The intern will actively participate in the conception, execution, and evaluation phases of various events organized by the association, including humanitarian talks, various events related to the annual thematic campaign, and other departmental events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's primary responsibilities will include supporting the headquarters' event projects, assisting in the animation and development of regional volunteer delegations, recruiting and following up with new volunteers, identifying new events for deploying the Water Bar in Île-de-France, Pays de Loire, and Brittany, and creating communication tools for the delegations. The intern will also assist in the creation of visibility tools, manage orders and stock for promotional items, and participate in Internal Communication efforts by collecting and disseminating information within the organization. Additionally, the intern will be involved in various tasks related to event organization, volunteer training, and the development of new communication channels for local events.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a higher education degree (level bac +3) preferably focused on communication, Event Management, or Project Management. A genuine interest and motivation for humanitarian work and the non-profit sector are essential. Ideally, candidates should have prior professional experience in communication, excellent writing skills, creativity, rigor, organization, and autonomy. Proficiency in Computer Software, particularly in desktop publishing (Adobe CC, especially InDesign and Photoshop), Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet and social media, and email (Outlook) is required.
Educational Background:
A higher education degree (level bac +3) in communication, event management, or project management is preferred for this position. Candidates should demonstrate a strong academic background relevant to the responsibilities of the internship.
Experience:
The position requires ideally a first professional experience in communication, which could be through internships, volunteer work, or relevant projects. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to work in a team and contribute to various projects effectively.
Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory due to the nature of the work and the target audience. Proficiency in English or other languages would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and international teams.
Additional Notes:
The internship is set to begin at the end of September or early October 2024 and will last for six months. The position is based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), accessible via the Mairie de Clichy metro station. The intern will be compensated at a rate of €4.90 per hour, calculated based on actual hours worked. Transportation costs will be covered at 50% by SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL, and meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day will be provided, with a 60% contribution from the organization. The internship will offer valuable insights into the functioning of a major international NGO, the various roles within it, and the relationships between different humanitarian actors.
