Job Overview:
The Internship Position is designed for individuals with a strong interest in International Relations and a desire to engage with Humanitarian Action in a practical manner. The Intern will work autonomously and should possess strong writing and synthesis skills, as well as an appreciation for diverse tasks. Responsibilities include drafting synthesis notes, participating in events, conducting research on geopolitical themes related to humanitarian action, and managing a website and its communication. The intern will assist the founder of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in advocacy efforts to raise awareness about humanitarian issues among policymakers and the public, particularly through the 'Défis Humanitaires' website. The role also involves monitoring humanitarian crises and supporting the founder's actions through relevant research and participation in various humanitarian-related meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for managing the 'Défis Humanitaires' website and its communication efforts. This includes the monthly publication of an online review, which involves proofreading and publishing articles, conducting interviews, creating newsletters, formatting the website, sourcing photos, and translating content. Daily management of the website will also include overseeing social media, tracking Fundraising efforts, communicating articles, and monitoring statistics. The intern will conduct research on the humanitarian ecosystem, its environment, actors, and partners, as well as support advocacy efforts related to access to clean water and humanitarian aid funding. Additional responsibilities include preparing for various humanitarian events attended by the founder and drafting reports on these events.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates should have a background in International Relations, Geopolitics, or Political Science, with a minimum educational level of Bac+3/4/
- Proficiency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of another language is considered a plus. Candidates should also possess strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and familiarity with WordPress is advantageous. Required personal qualities include autonomy, good organizational skills, responsiveness, strong writing and synthesis abilities, and efficiency in task execution.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in International Relations, Geopolitics, or Political Science, ideally at the Bac+3/4/5 level. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian action and international relations.
Experience:
While prior experience in the humanitarian sector is not necessary, candidates should demonstrate motivation and a willingness to learn. The internship is suitable for individuals looking to gain practical experience in humanitarian action and international relations.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of an additional language is considered beneficial and may enhance the candidate's profile.
Additional Notes:
The internship is based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), accessible via the Mairie de Clichy metro station. The internship requires a mandatory internship agreement. Compensation is set at €4.90 per hour, calculated based on actual hours worked each month (approximately 154 hours for an average month, equating to 22 days of 7 hours each). Public Transport costs are reimbursed at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL, and interns receive meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day worked, with SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL contributing 60% of this amount.
