Job Overview:
The Internal Auditor position at SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is crucial for providing overall support and assistance to the organization in terms of leadership, management, and supervision. The role involves ensuring timely and informed planning, evaluation of risk management, and overseeing Internal Audit activities. The Internal Auditor is responsible for assessing existing risks using up-to-date methodologies, advising Senior Leadership on current and emerging risk exposures, and identifying financial and operational risks. This position requires a thorough review of the internal control system to ensure adherence to acceptable standards, policies, and legal requirements. The Internal Auditor will also provide regular Advisory Services to senior management, ensuring that organizational resources are managed effectively. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Internal Auditor will carry out a risk-based audit of internal control processes at both the national office and field locations, covering areas such as income, expenditure, internal projects, donations, and Human Resource management. Responsibilities include developing an internal control culture through training, performing risk assessments, ensuring compliance with laws and donor requirements, and improving operational efficiency. The auditor will examine financial records for accuracy, conduct performance audits of programs, and ensure proper use of organizational assets. Regular audits will be conducted to ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and the auditor will provide advice to senior leadership on policy and procedural issues. The role also involves compiling and submitting internal audit reports with recommendations for improvements, conducting investigations into reported fraud, and following up on the implementation of audit recommendations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a BA Degree in Accounting, with additional certifications such as ACCA, CIA, or CFE being advantageous. Training in computer and Data Analytics is also required. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical thinking skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage change effectively. Problem-solving skills, strong reporting abilities, and excellent communication and relationship management skills are essential. The candidate should demonstrate teamwork capabilities and have excellent attention to detail when reviewing bulk data. Competencies in leadership, collaboration, empowerment, and strategic thinking are also necessary for this role.

Educational Background:
