Intern (Nutrition Knowledge Management)

World Food Programme (WFP)

Job Description

Malnutrition is a problem of staggering proportions with significant negative consequences that affect individuals and societies. The number of children under five years of age affected by stunting (an indicator of chronic undernutrition) and wasting (an indicator of acute undernutrition) are alarmingly high at 144 million and almost 50 million, respectively, while at least 340 million children suffer from micronutrient deficiencies. Most regions are not on track to achieve the targets for child overweight and adult obesity is still on the rise in all regions. Undernutrition is the underlying cause in an estimated 45 percent of all deaths among children under five years of age.
