Job Overview:
This Internship opportunity is situated within the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, Netherlands. The role focuses on In Orbit Demonstration, specifically in Small sat and Cubesat System Engineering. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the field of space engineering, particularly in the development and definition of small satellites and cubesats. The position requires active participation in various projects, allowing interns to learn about the competencies and tasks necessary for a career as a small sat and cubesat Space Engineer. Interns will also be involved in defining development approaches and standards for these systems, providing a comprehensive understanding of the engineering processes involved in space missions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be expected to actively participate in small sat and cubesat definition studies, contribute to the development of small sat and cubesat systems, and support technology developments related to these projects. They will also be involved in defining development approaches and standards, which are crucial for the successful execution of small satellite missions. Additionally, interns will engage in collaborative efforts with other team members, fostering a cooperative environment that encourages Knowledge Sharing and innovation. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be university students, preferably in their final or second-to-last year of a Master's level course. It is essential that candidates remain enrolled at their university for the entire duration of the internship. A background in engineering, particularly in space engineering or related disciplines, is highly desirable. Familiarity with engineering tools such as Matlab Simulink and CATIA is also beneficial. Additionally, candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be enrolled in a university program, ideally pursuing a Master's degree in engineering or a related field. Candidates should be in their final or second-to-last year of study, ensuring they have a solid foundation of knowledge and skills relevant to the internship's focus on small sat and cubesat system engineering.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, any background or coursework related to space engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields will be advantageous.
