Job Overview:
The Internship opportunity is situated within the Director General's Services at the ESA Centre for Earth Observation (ESRIN) in Frascati, Italy. The primary focus of this internship is to contribute to the development and enhancement of the new ESA website, which serves as the flagship platform for the ESA Communication Department. The selected intern will engage in various tasks related to the configuration of the back office, website development, data migration, and training of editors on the new system. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for assisting with several key tasks, including:
- New back office configuration: Testing and validating features to ensure functionality and usability.
- Website development: Conducting tests on web pages to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
- Data migration: Handling data referential tasks, data qualification, conducting tests, and implementing SEO strategies to enhance the website's visibility.
- Training: Providing training to editors on how to effectively use the new back office system. The intern will also be expected to collaborate with team members and contribute to the overall improvement of the website's performance and User Experience.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be university students, preferably in their final or second-to-last year of a Master’s level course. They should remain enrolled at their university for the entire duration of the internship. Additionally, a good knowledge of web technology, digital Content Management, and SEO is required. Previous experience with website reorganization is considered an advantage. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to creatively solve problems are essential for this role. Effective communication and teamwork skills are also necessary to succeed in this position.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes being a university student, ideally in the final stages of a Master’s degree program. The candidate must be enrolled in their university for the entire duration of the internship, ensuring that they can balance academic commitments with the responsibilities of the internship.
Experience:
While specific professional experience is not mandatory, candidates with some previous experience in web technology, digital content management, or website reorganization will have an advantage.
