Job Overview:
The Digital Unit Senior Manager is a pivotal role within MSF Canada, responsible for leading the Digital Unit and ensuring the coherence of digital strategies across various departments including Communications, Fundraising, Humanitarian Affairs, and Human Resources. This position requires a strategic thinker who can integrate different digital tactics to present a unified narrative for MSF’s public-facing digital activities. The successful candidate will oversee the development and execution of digital content that aligns with the organization's goals, ensuring that all Digital Communications are cohesive and effective in reaching target audiences. The role also involves project management, requiring the ability to translate service requests into actionable plans while utilizing project management tools like Asana.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage MSF Canada’s digital strategy across multiple departments, ensuring coherence and integration in digital activities.
  • Maintain oversight of digital strategies employed by various business units to identify opportunities for reducing duplication and enhancing overall digital presence.
  • Serve as a project management co-lead for integrated fundraising and communications campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support and lead Digital Unit Managers in translating Marketing" id="link" class="link">Digital Marketing service requests into concrete project management plans.
  • Directly supervise and support the Digital Marketing Manager and Digital Content Manager, ensuring they meet the objectives outlined in the Digital Unit annual plan.
  • Develop and implement digital fundraising and marketing strategies, managing complex digital projects and external contractors.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of digital campaigns, utilizing analytics to inform tactical recommendations.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in digital Communications Technology and practice, applying this knowledge to enhance MSF Canada’s digital strategies.

Required Qualifications:
  • A strong commitment to MSF's principles, including cross-cultural awareness and service orientation.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in French, both spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in Asana and possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a desirable asset.
  • Leadership experience in digital communications or related fields, with a proven track record of managing complex digital projects.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in digital project management, including experience with digital fundraising and marketing strategies.
  • 3-5 years of experience in people management roles, demonstrating the ability to develop team members and manage large budgets.
  • Experience in digital social engagement and online campaign development, with a solid understanding of donor journeys.
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEM optimization strategies, as well as familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and PIPEDA.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in communications, marketing, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in project management or digital marketing may be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should possess a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in managing complex digital projects, with a strong emphasis on digital fundraising and marketing strategies. Experience in leadership roles, particularly in managing cross-functional teams, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to develop team members and manage large budgets effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French is also required. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is a one-year contract with a salary grade of Level 18, offering an annual salary of $112,17
