Job Overview:
The ICT Officer position at NRC in Maiduguri is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting refugees and displaced communities. The officer will be responsible for establishing and implementing ICT systems and procedures for the NRC Area North Office. This role involves ensuring adherence to NRC policies, maintaining ICT equipment, and preparing status reports for management. The ICT Officer will also be tasked with promoting improvements in the support function and ensuring that all ICT resources are available and well-maintained. The position requires a proactive approach to support end-users and manage the local area network, ensuring optimal performance of the network infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ICT Officer will have a range of responsibilities including: adhering to NRC ICT policies and procedures; setting up and configuring hardware and software; visiting field offices to support internet setup; overseeing staff support and ICT policy compliance; monitoring ISP link performance; providing helpdesk support to end-users; reporting breakdowns to the Area Support Manager; ensuring preventive maintenance of computer equipment; managing the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wireless Local Area Network; delivering critical Microsoft Windows updates; and compiling monthly reports of anomalies for verification.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have experience working as an ICT Assistant or Officer in a humanitarian or recovery context, preferably with organizations similar to NRC. Documented experience in network management and cloud networking is essential, along with previous experience in complex and volatile contexts. Candidates should demonstrate documented results related to the responsibilities of the position and possess fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a strong understanding of ICT systems, with certifications in ITIL, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), and Cisco CCNA being advantageous. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Access, and SharePoint is also required, along with familiarity with solar energy infrastructures and Microsoft Power Platform tools.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in ICT roles, particularly in humanitarian settings. Experience in managing networks and cloud services is crucial, as well as a proven track record of successfully resolving ICT-related issues in challenging environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, fluency in Hausa is considered an asset, enhancing communication with Local Communities and stakeholders.

The ICT Officer position is based in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, with a contract duration of 3 months, which is renewable based on performance and organizational needs. The position is classified as Grade 5 in NRC's grading structure and reports to the Area Support Manager.
