NRC is implementing projects in the North West and South West Regions since 2018. All NRC Core Competencies: Education, WASH, Shelter, ICLA, and Livelihood and Security" id="link" class="link">Food Security, are now fully operational in the NW, SW, and extending to the West, and Littoral regions. In order to effectively implement all of its programs, there is a great need for ICT Support.
The purpose of the ICT Assistant position is to assist the ICT Coordinator in the implementation of IT-related activities in the Bamenda office. He/she will work under the day to day supervision of the Field Office Coordinator, who will provide him/her full support in the implementation of all relevant activities.
A - General responsibilities:Works in accordance with NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines according to the overall ICT strategy. Assists in the implementation of the ICT function according to the action plan. Provides ICT user support Write progress reports on the ICT activities for which he/she is responsible upon request of the supervisor.
B - Specific responsibilities:Provides basic support, information, and training of users on ICT policies, procedures, and systems. Is responsible for the management of applications, networks, deployment of IT equipment, and management of ICT assets. Ensures that security systems, data storage, and backups are configured and maintained. Ensures configuration of equipment and peripherals. Ensures protection and preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, including electrical, heat, water, dust, and virus risks. Maintain the service levels agreed upon with the Internet Service Providers (ISP) and telephone service providers. Produces reports on ICT activities.
C - General professional skills:
Professional experience as an ICT support technician. Previous work experience in humanitarian contexts. Proven track record in the responsibilities of the position. At least 01-year experience in a similar position. Teaching skills and ability to communicate technical concepts in plain language.
D - Context-specific skills, knowledge, and experience:In-depth knowledge of MS Office 365, network Administration, configuration, and maintenance of ICT equipment. Have a degree in ICT or equivalent recognized in Cameroon. Fluency in written and spoken English. French is an asset.
