Job Overview:
The ICLA Community Mobilizer will play a crucial role in engaging with Local Communities to promote awareness and understanding of the organization's programs. This position requires a proactive approach to Community Outreach, ensuring that the needs and concerns of the community are effectively communicated to the organization. The mobilizer will be responsible for facilitating workshops, meetings, and discussions to gather feedback and foster collaboration between the organization and community members. The role also involves developing educational materials and resources to support community engagement efforts, as well as monitoring and evaluating the impact of these initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct community assessments to identify needs and priorities of the local population.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings and workshops to promote program awareness.
- Develop and distribute informational materials to educate the community about available services.
- Collaborate with local leaders and stakeholders to enhance Community Participation.
- Monitor and evaluate community engagement activities to assess their effectiveness.
- Provide regular reports on community feedback and engagement outcomes to the management team.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and the community to ensure effective communication.
- Support the implementation of community-based projects and initiatives.
- Assist in training community volunteers to enhance their capacity for engagement. 1
- Foster a positive relationship with community members to build trust and cooperation.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse community members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Community Mobilization techniques and strategies.
- Experience in conducting assessments and evaluations in community settings.
- Knowledge of humanitarian principles and practices is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work under pressure.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field is required. Additional training or certifications in community engagement or humanitarian work will be considered an asset.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in community mobilization, outreach, or related fields is required. Experience working with vulnerable populations and in humanitarian settings is highly desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Proficiency in English or indigenous languages spoken in the region is considered a plus.
