Job Overview:
The ICLA Community Mobilizer will play a crucial role in engaging with Local Communities to identify their needs and mobilize resources effectively. This position requires a proactive approach to Community Engagement, ensuring that the voices of the community members are heard and integrated into program planning and implementation. The mobilizer will work closely with other team members to develop strategies that enhance Community Participation and foster sustainable development. The role also involves conducting workshops, training sessions, and community meetings to raise awareness about available services and programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct community assessments to identify needs and resources.
- Facilitate community meetings and workshops to promote program awareness.
- Collaborate with local leaders and stakeholders to strengthen community ties.
- Develop and implement Community Mobilization strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate community engagement activities and report findings.
- Provide training and support to community members to enhance their skills and capacities.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and the community to ensure effective communication.
- Document and share best practices and lessons learned from community engagement efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Experience in community mobilization or related fields.
- Knowledge of local community dynamics and issues.
- Proficiency in Project Management and implementation.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, community development, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in community engagement or project management are advantageous.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in community mobilization, social work, or a related field is required. Experience working with vulnerable populations and in humanitarian contexts is preferred.
Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Proficiency in English or indigenous languages is considered an asset.
