Job Overview:
The Human Resources Director (HR Director) position at the American Heart Association is a pivotal role that serves as a business partner and Advisor to leaders and employees within the Midwest region. This role is responsible for developing and implementing human resources strategies that align with the Association's goals. The HR Director will lead various HR programs and regional learning and development activities, including leadership development and virtual training sessions. Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Director will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: providing support to employees throughout their lifecycle, conducting check-in calls, assisting with Development Plans, and processing departures. The director will advise employees and managers on various HR programs and procedures, focusing on onboarding, employee relations, engagement, organizational development, and talent succession. The role involves utilizing key HR metrics and data to provide insights for improving culture and leadership. The HR Director will work to enhance manager and employee performance by identifying barriers and implementing coaching strategies. Additionally, the director will create and facilitate virtual leadership and training sessions, lead region-wide HR projects, and maintain strong partnerships with other HR functions such as Talent Acquisition and Learning and Development. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the HR Director position must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or SPHR/PHR certifications. A minimum of three years of proven experience in human resources is required, with at least two years of experience in employee and leadership coaching. Training facilitation experience is also preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with effective interpersonal skills to relate to and influence individuals at all levels. Candidates should have a solid understanding of employment laws and compliance, as well as exceptional skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, particularly under competing demands, is crucial, and candidates should be willing to travel up to 10% locally and overnight.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the HR Director position includes a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
