Job Overview:
The Human Resources Director (HR Director) position at the American Heart Association is a pivotal role that serves as a business partner and Advisor to leaders and employees across the Midwest region. This position is responsible for developing and implementing human resources strategies that align with the Association's goals. The HR Director will lead various HR programs and regional learning and development activities, including leadership development and virtual training sessions. The HR Director will also have the flexibility to work from home within the 13-state Midwest region, which includes states such as Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and others. Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Director will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: providing support to employees throughout their lifecycle, conducting check-in calls, assisting with Development Plans, and processing departures. Utilizing key HR metrics and data, the Director will provide insights for continuous improvement in culture and leadership. Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the HR Director position must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or SPHR/PHR certifications. A minimum of three years of proven experience in human resources is required, with at least two years of experience in employee and leadership coaching. Training facilitation experience is also preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence individuals at all levels are essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of employment laws and compliance, exceptional skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively. The role may require local and overnight travel of up to 10%.
