Job Overview:
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing administrative and Coordination support for the US Human Resources Department at Mercy Corps. This position is responsible for a variety of HR duties that support the global team members in a timely and accurate manner, fostering a spirit of teamwork and service. The coordinator will facilitate effective administrative tasks, manage documentation, and support the lifecycle of team members within the organization. This role is essential in maintaining operational consistency and ensuring that all HR processes are executed efficiently, contributing to the overall mission of Mercy Corps.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: providing overall Administration for the US HR Department, maintaining team documentation platforms, assisting in the collection and processing of new hire paperwork, supporting statutory reporting and labor Law posting requirements, managing the team’s mailbox, providing audit support, e-filing HR related paperwork, maintaining and updating team member information in HR systems, assisting in drafting employment verifications, and supporting global priorities and diversity & inclusion efforts. Additionally, the coordinator will actively contribute to HR-related projects, such as digitizing physical employment records and ensuring that all documentation is accurately updated in the HRIS system. The role requires maintaining high ethical standards, promoting a culture of feedback and learning, and ensuring confidentiality in all HR matters.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or have at least 2 years of administrative or coordination support experience. They should demonstrate a history of providing excellent customer service, possess strong attention to detail, and be able to follow procedures while completing tasks with high-quality outputs. The ability to manage time effectively, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills is essential. Familiarity with HR processes, major US employment laws, and analytical techniques is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills are mandatory, and fluency in English is required, with proficiency in another language such as French, Arabic, or Spanish being strongly preferred.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in administrative support or coordination. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of HR processes and effectively managing the responsibilities associated with the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in administrative or coordination support roles. This experience should include a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain operational consistency, and provide high-quality customer service. Familiarity with HR processes and a strong understanding of employment laws will be beneficial for success in this position.

Languages:
Fluency in English is a mandatory requirement for this position. Proficiency in additional languages such as French, Arabic, or Spanish is considered a strong asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively within a diverse team and with various stakeholders.
