Job Overview:
The HR Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the HR functions within the organization. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including policy development, Advisory Services, talent acquisition, team management, and knowledge sharing. The HR Associate will contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies. The role requires a proactive approach to managing HR processes, providing guidance to personnel, and facilitating effective communication between management and staff. The HR Associate will also be responsible for ensuring that new hires have a positive onboarding experience and that all HR-related systems and processes are adhered to. This position is essential for maintaining the credibility and effectiveness of the HR unit within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Associate's duties include supporting policy development and implementation by collecting data on HR trends and best practices, advising on HR systems and processes, and acting as a liaison between the HR unit and clients. The role involves assisting in recruitment processes, managing onboarding for new hires, and providing guidance on performance management and compliance with HR policies. The HR Associate will also be responsible for maintaining monitoring systems for HR actions, processing payroll verification, and ensuring timely completion of HR processes. Additionally, the HR Associate will facilitate team management by promoting effective work planning and performance management, as well as supporting knowledge building initiatives within the HR unit.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of six years of experience in HR advisory, recruitment, or HR-generalist services if they have completed secondary education. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent disciplines are required to have at least two years of relevant experience. Knowledge of UN policies and procedures is highly desirable, along with experience in using HR Information Systems and Google Suite applications.
Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include the completion of secondary education as a minimum. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's Degree) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent disciplines is desirable. Knowledge of UN policies, procedures, and practices is highly beneficial for candidates applying for this role.
Experience:
The HR Associate position requires a minimum of six years of experience in HR-related roles for candidates who have only completed secondary education. For those with a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum of two years of experience in an international or national organization providing HR advisory, recruitment, or HR-generalist services is required. Experience with HR information systems is desirable, as is familiarity with Google Suite applications.
Languages:
Fluency in written, spoken, and reading English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.

This position is classified as a Local ICA Support contract at the LICA-6 level. The contract is ongoing and open-ended, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
