Job Overview:
The Finance Coordinator (Partnership) plays a crucial role in supporting the Financial Aspects of program activities implemented through partner organizations. This position is specifically open to Ukrainian nationals, emphasizing the importance of local expertise in managing financial operations. The coordinator will be responsible for providing direction, oversight, and guidance on financial matters, ensuring that all activities align with NRC's policies and donor requirements. The role involves close collaboration with partner organizations to ensure compliance with Financial Regulations and effective budget management. The Finance Coordinator will also be involved in Capacity Building for partners, helping them to enhance their Financial Management skills and practices. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring financial performance and ensuring that all financial documentation is accurate and accessible for audits and reviews.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Coordinator will implement NRC’s systems and procedures, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and donor requirements. Key responsibilities include preparing and submitting financial reports and analyses, maintaining proper filing of support documents, and supporting the Finance Manager in team training and procedures. The coordinator will manage the Finance Partnership Unit, ensuring that accounting, monitoring, and reporting are conducted according to established procedures. Specific duties include consolidating and verifying financial reports and budgets from partners, maintaining records for financial deliverables, monitoring budget utilization, and participating in the review and capacity building of partners. The coordinator will also conduct due diligence assessments of potential partners, provide inputs for customizing partner agreements, and ensure compliance with sub-grant agreements. Regular visits to partner offices will be necessary to review records and understand field activities, along with maintaining an efficient internal control system to minimize fraud risks. The Finance Coordinator will support the NRC finance team during month-end closure routines and act as the focal point for annual external audits. Additionally, the coordinator will manage a team of two Finance Officers and a Finance Technical Assistant, ensuring effective performance and development within the team.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial management, ideally within a humanitarian or development context. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required, while a Master’s degree or professional accounting qualification (such as CPA or ACCA) is preferred. Experience in a senior finance position in a humanitarian or recovery context is essential, along with professional knowledge of accounting and auditing practices. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing staff and achieving documented results related to the responsibilities of the position. Familiarity with complex and volatile contexts is also important, as is the ability to demonstrate leadership skills and a commitment to empowering team members.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable, as it indicates a higher level of expertise and understanding of financial management principles. Experience:
