Job Overview:
The Executive Director, Development plays a crucial leadership role within the American Heart Association, particularly in Collin County, Texas. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of Fundraising strategies to meet a significant financial goal of over $2 million. The Executive Director will work closely with high-level executives and the Volunteer Board of Directors to foster engagement and drive the mission of the AHA. This role requires a dynamic individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, sales-oriented environment, focusing on revenue generation to support the organization's health initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Executive Director will be responsible for a variety of key functions, including but not limited to: driving results through effective volunteer recruitment and management; Strategic Planning to meet sales and fundraising goals; sustaining existing corporate partnerships while building new revenue streams; cultivating major donors and securing large corporate sponsorships; leading and coaching staff to achieve market goals; collaborating with internal teams to drive specific health initiatives; and representing the AHA at community and corporate functions to enhance visibility and support for the organization.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Executive Director position should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a strong preference for those with at least 5 years of successful experience in non-profit fundraising or a similar field. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of managerial experience, ideally leading a sales or fundraising team. Experience in managing relationships with high-level leaders at the C-suite level is essential, as is direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics. The ability to travel within the Collin County area and access reliable transportation is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree is preferred for this position, although equivalent experience may be considered. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training related to non-profit management, fundraising, business Administration, or a related field that supports the responsibilities of the Executive Director role.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising or a related field, with a proven track record of success in achieving fundraising goals.
