Job Overview:
The Emergency Coordinator position at BSF in Lebanon is crucial for the Design and implementation of Emergency Response activities aimed at supporting children and youth affected by ongoing crises. The role involves working closely with the Regional Director and the Regional Head of Program to ensure effective partnership management, operational and financial oversight, and the completion of procurement processes. The Emergency Coordinator will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the impact of these activities, ensuring that they align with BSF's mission and objectives. This position is vital for enhancing the autonomy and resilience of vulnerable communities through improved Access to Information, education, and culture, particularly in emergency situations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Emergency Coordinator will undertake a variety of key responsibilities, including conducting context and stakeholder analyses to identify needs and issues relevant to BSF's mandate. They will represent BSF in Lebanon, coordinating with local and national authorities to secure humanitarian access and build acceptance. The role also involves developing and validating intervention strategies, managing operations to ensure quality and budgetary compliance, and structuring the BSF office for optimal functioning. Additionally, the Emergency Coordinator will oversee security management, ensuring the implementation of security plans and participating in Crisis Management as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Social Sciences, Education, Humanitarian Action, International Development, Humanities, Law, or a related field. They should have at least three years of experience in emergency project management and Coordination, with proven expertise in Education in Emergency (EiE) and Protection and Psycho-Social Support (PSS) interventions. Strong experience in logistics, procurement, and administrative tasks is essential, along with good representation skills and awareness of humanitarian principles. Candidates should also demonstrate an interest in digital education and new educational tools, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Educational Background:
A university degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Education, Humanitarian Action, International Development, Humanities, Law, or other related areas is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of emergency response and the needs of vulnerable populations.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in emergency project management and coordination. This experience should encompass all aspects of project lifecycle management, including setup, mobilization, planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and capitalization. Proven experience in managing education projects in emergency contexts is particularly valuable, as is experience in logistics and procurement.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset. Strong communication skills in both languages are essential for effective representation and coordination with various stakeholders.

The position is open to both expatriates and national contracts, with a contract duration of three months starting from December 1, 202
- For expatriate contracts, the position offers a fixed-term contract under French law with a gross monthly remuneration between 2600 and 3083€. Benefits include a monthly allowance for living expenses, accommodation covered by BSF, and a comprehensive social protection system. Expatriates will also receive 2.5 days off per month and additional rest days. For national contracts, remuneration will depend on BSF's salary grid and the candidate's experience.
