 Role and responsibilities

The Education Officer is responsible for overseeing the daily implementation of the Education and Youth Projects program’s activities in the community center from Ocnița while contributing to the development and implementation of new Education activities in line with the needs, and NRC’s strategy and standards.

Generic responsibilities

Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements; Identify beneficiaries, involve and inform communities and local stakeholders about NRC educational programmes and activities; Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required; Provide regular monitoring of education response activities and the evolving learning needs of the affected population; Ensure proper filing of documents; Ensure that NRC’s related activities are implemented with NRC’s Protection mainstreaming guidelines and report any breaches /concerns to the line manager and/ or focal point for proper action.

Specific responsibilities

Participate in Design and implementation of NRC Education programmes and activities; Field monitoring of the activities implementation in adherence to Project Implementation Agreement; Develop and share ideas that will help NRC respond appropriately; Participate in design of Training Programs based on needs assessments;

Assist the Education Coordinator in organizing and delivering trainings and workshops; Support the development of Monitoring & Evaluation Tools and systems to measure and analyze learning outcomes and to guide programmatic development; Efficiently collaborate with other team members in order to assure the accomplishment of work objectives; Participate in the weekly meetings with team to address any issues and set team plans Report weekly to Project Coordinator to provide debriefing on progress of implementation and submit needed supporting documents Undertake any other task assigned by management.

Competencies

 Professional competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Education/Pedagogy, Social Studies or other relevant domains; Previous experience in the field of Education In Emergencies/psycho-education and/or youth; Proficiency in English and Romanian, both written and verbal; Fluency in Russian or/and Ukrainian is an asset; Ability to discuss sensitive issues with respect and empathy; Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel); Good knowledge of the refugee context in Moldova and Ukraine; Interest in humanitarian work, and knowledge of NGO’s operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is an asset; Experience in participatory programs.
