Job Overview:
The Driver position at NRC involves ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of staff and goods in compliance with the organization's policies and guidelines. The role requires a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and documentation, as well as adherence to Road Safety regulations. The Driver will be responsible for conducting daily and weekly inspections of the vehicle, maintaining accurate logs, and reporting any issues promptly. This position is crucial for supporting NRC's operations in Goma and surrounding areas, contributing to the overall mission of assisting Vulnerable Populations affected by crises. The Driver will also engage with project teams to stay informed about ongoing activities and ensure that transportation needs are met effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's duties include ensuring that all necessary equipment and valid documentation are present in the vehicle before any movement. The Driver must complete the vehicle logbook after each trip and conduct daily and weekly inspections of the vehicle, filling out the required checklists. It is essential to ensure that technical checks and preventive maintenance (A, B, and C) are performed as scheduled. The Driver is responsible for reporting and documenting any problems as soon as they are identified. Safe driving practices must be adopted, taking into account road conditions and adhering to the traffic code and NRC regulations. The Driver must obtain permission before allowing anyone not associated with NRC to travel in the vehicle and ensure that the appropriate documentation is signed. Familiarity with the driver's manual is required, and the Driver should stay informed about ongoing project activities. Additionally, the Driver must assist with all repair and maintenance work conducted on the vehicle.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be Congolese nationals and hold a state diploma along with a certificate in automotive studies. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required, supported by credible references. The ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility, physical resilience, and the ability to work under stress. A valid driving license for categories A, B, C, and D is mandatory. Proficiency in various Communication Systems (HF, VHF, and Satellite Phone) is essential, along with a solid understanding of mechanical principles. Knowledge of Goma and its surrounding provinces is crucial, as is fluency in French (both spoken and written) and local dialects. Additionally, candidates must provide an ONEM card for the unemployed.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a state diploma and a certificate in automotive studies. This educational foundation is essential for understanding vehicle mechanics and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of relevant driving experience, which should be verifiable through credible references. This experience should include familiarity with the local area, vehicle maintenance, and adherence to safety regulations.

Languages:
Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of local dialects is also highly desirable, as it facilitates communication with Local Communities and enhances the effectiveness of the role.
