Job Overview:
The Digital Communications Coordinator is a key position within the Communications Department of MSF Canada, responsible for managing and enhancing the organization's online presence. This role involves daily updates to the MSF Canada website and social Media Platforms, ensuring that humanitarian stories and breaking news from MSF teams worldwide are effectively communicated. The Coordinator will work closely with the Digital Communications Officer and other teams to ensure that communications align with advocacy, fundraising, and recruitment objectives. The position also requires strategic website edits, SEO optimization, and accessibility improvements to enhance digital engagement. The Coordinator will provide insightful digital analytics reports to assess and improve online performance, making this role crucial for the organization's outreach and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Digital Communications Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Managing day-to-day content updates on MSF Canada’s website and social media accounts, ensuring timely and relevant information is shared.
- Drafting, posting, and promoting content that aligns with communications, advocacy, fundraising, and human resources objectives.
- Making manual edits to optimize the website and social media accounts for better performance.
- Utilizing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools to enhance website visibility and compliance with accessibility legislation, such as AODA.
- Supporting the Digital Communications Officer and Digital Marketing Officer with Digital Media analytics and monitoring to track engagement and effectiveness.
- Collaborating with various teams to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all digital platforms.
- Analyzing digital performance metrics and providing reports to inform future strategies and improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Digital Communications Coordinator position must demonstrate a strong commitment to the principles of MSF, including cross-cultural awareness and a service-oriented mindset. They should possess fluency in English and proficiency in French, both spoken and written. Additionally, candidates should have experience in digital communications, communications management, or website management, or a suitable combination of training and progressive work experience. A working knowledge of the Canadian Press Style Guide and best practices in web copywriting is essential. Experience in social media management and Content Management is also required, along with familiarity with content Management Systems such as WordPress, SEO, Google Analytics, and social media marketing tools. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing requests are crucial for success in this role.
Educational Background:
The position requires a relevant educational background in communications, digital media, marketing, or a related field. Candidates should have formal training or coursework that supports their understanding of digital communications and content management practices. A degree or diploma in a relevant discipline is preferred, but equivalent experience may also be considered.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in digital communications, website management, or a related field. This experience should include hands-on work with content management systems, Social Media Platforms, and digital analytics tools. Candidates with a proven track record of developing user-centric digital experiences and managing online content will be highly regarded.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French (spoken and written) is also required. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse audiences.
Additional Notes:
The position offers a salary grade of Level 13, with an annual salary of $64,251, pro-rated to the contract length.
