Job Overview:
The Development Director position at the American Heart Association in Las Vegas is a pivotal role focused on generating revenue for the Heart Ball Fundraising campaign, which includes the signature Las Vegas Heart Ball event. This position operates in a fast-paced sales environment, where the primary responsibility is to drive revenue in support of the AHA's mission. The Director will be expected to build and maintain relationships with corporate partners and donors, develop proposals, and coordinate event Logistics. The role also includes recruiting and managing volunteers, planning events, and collaborating with internal teams to promote campaign communications. The AHA provides resources for professional development and work-life harmonization, emphasizing the importance of employee well-being and success.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Director will be responsible for generating revenue through local corporate sponsorships and individual donations. Key duties include achieving revenue goals by building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and donors, conducting research to identify potential sponsors, developing and presenting proposals, recruiting executive Volunteer leadership, coordinating event auctions, leading membership engagement initiatives, and planning events in collaboration with various stakeholders. The Director will also work closely with the Communications Director to support campaign communication plans, ensuring that all activities align with the AHA's mission and goals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or a similar field. The role requires the ability to travel locally and access reliable transportation. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move large objects, with assistance as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential. Preferred qualifications include a university or college degree, experience managing high-level leaders, and knowledge of corporate and community networks.

Educational Background:
While a university or college degree is preferred, equivalent experience in fundraising or sales may be considered. The emphasis is on relevant experience that demonstrates the candidate's ability to succeed in the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or a related field. Candidates should have a proven track record of achieving revenue goals and building relationships with corporate partners and donors.
