Job Overview:
The Development Director plays a crucial role in advancing the mission of the American Heart Association by leading Fundraising campaigns and initiatives, particularly the Research Roundtable campaign. This position requires collaboration with both internal and external partners to achieve revenue goals and drive health impact objectives. The Development Director will be responsible for engaging volunteers and staff, ensuring that the organization meets its financial targets while fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration. The role is set in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes revenue generation in support of the AHA's mission, with a compensation structure that includes a base salary and performance-based incentives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Director will manage and implement the Research Roundtable campaign, ensuring adherence to AHA best practices and accountability for revenue goals. Key responsibilities include identifying, recruiting, and engaging a diverse Volunteer leadership base to support campaign growth, building recruitment and executive leadership committees, and cultivating relationships with high-level corporate sponsors. The role also involves providing staff support for campaign planning and evaluation, collaborating with various teams within the organization, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations. Effective communication with internal and external partners is essential to deliver on commitments and maintain strong Donor Relations.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least three years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or a similar field. The ability to travel locally and access reliable transportation is required, along with the physical capability to lift and move large objects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary, and experience managing relationships with high-level leaders is preferred. Knowledge of corporate and community networks will be advantageous for this role.
Educational Background:
A university or college degree is preferred, although equivalent experience may be considered. The educational background should ideally align with the responsibilities of fundraising and Community Engagement.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in fundraising or sales, with a strong emphasis on relationship management and revenue generation. Experience in cultivating high-level leadership relationships, particularly at the C-Suite level, is highly desirable.
Languages:
While no specific language requirements are mentioned, proficiency in English is mandatory. Additional language skills may be beneficial in engaging diverse communities and stakeholders.

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $69,600 to $86,600 annually, depending on experience. The role is incentive-eligible based on achieving specific revenue targets.
