Job Overview:
The Development Director position at the American Heart Association is a pivotal role focused on generating revenue for the Go Red for Women Fundraising campaign, which includes the signature Los Angeles Go Red for Women Celebration event. This position operates in a fast-paced sales environment where the primary responsibility is to drive revenue in support of the AHA's mission. The Development Director will be expected to manage relationships with current and prospective donors, apply best fundraising practices, and achieve revenue goals that align with the organization's funding priorities. The role requires Strategic Planning, Volunteer engagement, and effective communication to cultivate donor relationships and ensure the success of fundraising initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Director will manage relationships with individuals and companies to meet fundraising goals, applying AHA best practices for Sustainable growth. Responsibilities include identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and managing new philanthropic and corporate sponsorship relationships. The Director will develop a three-year plan for account development and corporate sponsorships, ensuring maximum revenue potential. Additionally, the role involves recruiting and activating a strong volunteer leadership base to support fundraising campaigns, planning and implementing strategies for revenue generation, and managing donor pipelines and cultivation plans. The Development Director will also ensure accurate management of customer and campaign information and maintain timely communication with internal and external partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least three years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or a similar field. The role requires the ability to travel locally up to 75%, access to reliable transportation, and the physical capability to lift or move large objects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with donors and stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A university or college degree is preferred, although equivalent experience may be considered. Candidates with experience managing relationships at the C-Suite level and knowledge of corporate and community networks will be viewed favorably.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or a related field. Experience in managing high-level relationships and a proven track record of achieving fundraising goals are essential for success in this role.

Languages:

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with an expected salary range of $66,700 to $80,000 annually, plus potential incentives based on performance.
