The American Heart Association (the Association) has a Temporary / Part-time Development Coordinator position supporting our Utica NY Heart Walk campaign (America's Greatest Heart Run and Walk event). This position can be located in Utica NY or Home-Office based if located outside of the Utica area. Estimated hours will be 25 hours weekly.

Responsibilities
The Development Coordinator will support the Director" id="link" class="link">Executive Director and Development staff, supporting fundraising and field activities including Data Entry; processing funds; preparing correspondence, participant outreach calls; spreadsheets, materials, and reports; and general administrative support.
Primary responsibilities include:
The main focus of this temp position will be to register participants for America’s Greatest Heart Run and Walk.
Call and e-mail participants to confirm their registration
Assist participants in the registration process and send appropriate resources
Keep walk participant data up to date, connecting individuals to their teams
Work with development staff and participants to make sure that money is accurately displayed on individual participant webpages
Run participant reports with updates for Executive Director
Assist in getting in touch with and scheduling event volunteers
Assisting with America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk logistics as needed
Data entry and Data Management. Report preparation and tracking support requires solid Excel and Data Management skills.
Perform administrative duties as required or requested.
Qualifications

Must have earned a high school diploma or GED. College degree or some college a plus.
Minimum one (1) year work experience in administrative office experience or project Coordination experience, with strong attention to detail.
Experience in event planning, organizing, consultation and Event Management preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.
Must have at least intermediate knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2010 used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets. Advanced knowledge and skill with these programs is preferred. These skills are subject to testing.
Ability to objectively evaluate, make effective decisions and develop alternative solutions.
Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of American Heart Association staff, volunteers and the public. This includes ability and willingness to build and nurture relationships within and outside the American Heart Association. This also includes the ability to work collaboratively with others to use resources to achieve common goals.
Ability to be diplomatic, self-motivated, resourceful, considerate, and flexible.
Knowledge of and skill in report preparation, proofreading and attention to detail.
Proven background and willingness to work in an atmosphere requiring flexibility and change.
Must pass background check and must be at least 18 years old.
