Job Overview:
The Development Coordinator position is a vital role within the American Heart Association, specifically focused on supporting Fundraising events in Alaska while being based in Seattle. This position involves a range of responsibilities including planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating various fundraising events such as the Anchorage Heart Run and Walk, Go Red for Women events, and Fairbanks Heart Walk. The Development Coordinator will also manage data and operations support for the Alaska-based Development Team, ensuring that all events are executed smoothly and within budget. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. The position allows for flexibility in working from home or the Seattle office, making it suitable for candidates living in the greater Seattle metropolitan area.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Coordinator will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties including:
  • Planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating fundraising events, ensuring they are well-executed and within budget.
  • Procuring necessary resources and in-kind donations for events.
  • Recruiting, managing, and engaging volunteers for events, providing day-of-event support.
  • Managing customer and campaign data using multiple AHA systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Overseeing overlapping timelines and demonstrating strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ensuring that all event collateral, signage, and visual needs adhere to AHA branding guidelines.
  • Maintaining proactive communication with internal and external partners to support collaboration and achieve shared goals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess at least three years of relevant work experience, demonstrating the ability to organize, plan, and execute events effectively. Experience with multiple databases for Data Management is essential, along with a solutions-oriented approach to anticipate needs and offer quick solutions. Strong oral and written communication skills are required, as well as effective interpersonal skills to develop collaborative relationships. Attention to detail and superb organizational skills are critical, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The ability to travel to Alaska up to four times a year is also necessary.

Educational Background:
While a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, it is not strictly required. The educational background should support the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience for the role. Candidates with relevant experience in event planning and Coordination will also be considered favorably.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, particularly in event planning and coordination. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing events successfully and working with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

Languages:

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with a pay range of $23.50 to $30.85 per hour, commensurate with experience.
