Job Overview:
The Development Associate for School Engagement will play a crucial role in supporting the American Heart Association's mission by engaging with schools and communities to promote heart health initiatives. The associate will be responsible for leading school assemblies, providing customer service and administrative support, and facilitating Fundraising initiatives within schools. The position is full-time and seasonal, running from December 2024 to April 2025, and involves extensive travel to various school sites, averaging 40 visits per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Development Associate include:
  • Leading school assemblies and presentations to educate students and staff about heart health and the AHA's initiatives.
  • Providing on-site and remote customer service to schools, addressing inquiries and supporting their participation in AHA programs.
  • Assisting with email campaigns and communication strategies to engage schools and promote fundraising events.
  • Scheduling and planning meetings with school administrators and staff to discuss Program Implementation and support.
  • Performing Data Entry and donation processing in accordance with established standards and policies.
  • Traveling extensively throughout the assigned territory to visit schools, ensuring a strong presence and support for AHA initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the Development team to strategize and enhance fundraising efforts within schools.
  • Maintaining accurate records of school engagements and fundraising activities to track progress and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for this position should possess the following qualifications:
  • A strong passion for health and wellness, particularly in relation to youth engagement.
  • Experience or aptitude for driving fundraising initiatives, particularly in educational settings.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong orientation towards teamwork and collaboration.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt presentations for diverse audiences, ranging from young children to adults.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally and overnight, with access to reliable transportation at all times.

Educational Background:
