Job Overview:
The Database Administrator Intern will work under the supervision of the Associate Database & ERP Administration Officer within the Information Management Services Section of the ICC. This Internship is designed for individuals who are in the early stages of their professional careers and are looking to gain practical experience in database administration and information management. The intern will be involved in supporting the administration, maintenance, and operation of the organization's database environments, which includes tasks such as server installations, maintenance, upgrades, and disaster recovery testing. The role provides an opportunity to learn about the ICC's information management practices and contribute to the Court's mission of ensuring justice and accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will assist with various tasks including:
  • Supporting the administration, maintenance, and operation of the organization's database environments, including new server installations, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Assisting with the testing of backups and restores, as well as supporting disaster recovery tests.
  • Helping to configure and monitor Database Servers, ensuring that backups and database jobs are completed as scheduled.
  • Engaging in other IT-related tasks that provide opportunities to learn about different fields of expertise within the organization. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in Database Management and Information Technology operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, preferably in Computer Science or Database Administration. Experience with Windows Server and SQL Server is preferred, but not mandatory. All candidates must have a degree or be in the final stages of their studies at a recognized university and are expected to have a very good record of academic performance. Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field is required, with a preference for candidates who have studied Computer Science or Database Administration. Candidates should be in the final stages of their studies or have already completed their degree from a recognized university. Experience:
The internship is aimed at candidates in the early stages of their professional careers, meaning that practical experience is not a strict prerequisite for selection. However, any relevant practical experience that aligns with the work of the Court may be considered an asset. The focus is on providing an opportunity for learning and professional development.

Languages:
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, either French or English, is required. A working knowledge of the other language is desirable. Additionally, knowledge of another official language of the Court, such as Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset. This linguistic diversity is important for effective communication within the multicultural environment of the ICC.

The internship is for a fixed duration of six months, and interns are required to work full-time during this period. It is important to note that internship placements at the ICC are unfunded, meaning that the Court does not provide any remuneration or reimbursement for expenses incurred during the internship.
