Job Description

The Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) facilitates seasonal and longer-term work opportunities for Pacific workers in Australia. It connects Australian employers with Pacific workers, supports the Administration of the Pacific Labour Scheme and provides targeted support to the Seasonal Worker Programme.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Management Coordinator who will assist the Labour Sending Unit (LSU) Head of Department (HoD) and LSU staff to improve data management processes and systems, build LSU data management capacity, update and manage spreadsheet data records and transition LSU data to the In-country Recruitment Database (IRD), as well as provide support to the maintenance and support to LSU software and hardware and maintaining the integrity, useability and usefulness of the data therein.

About you

It is essential that you have experience working with databases, data procedures, and data administration. You must have outstanding attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.

You will develop systems and processes for the collection, storage, Analysis and reporting of program data to assist labour mobility supply processes such as annual labour mobility supply planning, recruitment and mobilisation, worker welfare management and monitor and evaluation.

It is expected of you to identify LSU training and data management support needs and provide training and coaching for staff.

The deliverables for this position are:

  • Assist with the rollout of the in-country Recruitment Database (IRD) in Tonga
  • Conduct user research such as stakeholder interviews and surveys to provide a continuous stream of user needs, thus enabling user-centric product and service Design
  • Provide troubleshooting support for IT requirements of the LSU team and PLF staff
  • PC and software set-up, including new user account registration and network access configuration.
The boxes you must tick:

  • Qualification in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Proven ability to plan and manage schedules, files/database and working materials as well as keep confidentiality of documents and information
  • A willingness to support work outside of the direct scope of data and systems; to support any and all aspects of the LSU as the technical enabler
  • Relevant and up to date experience with modern databases and technologies and in data Coordination or Data Handling
  • Experience in quantitative Data Analysis
  • Experience in supporting the ongoing development and implementation of cloud-based Management Information Systems
  • Skills in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience in facilitating workshops, training activities and coaching/mentoring of others
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated - demonstrate high levels of initiative to plan and manage work to fit both LSU and PLF priorities.
