Job Overview:
The Data Collector position at ACAPS is an entry-level role designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the humanitarian sector, particularly in qualitative and quantitative analysis and Data Collection. The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to ACAPS' timely analysis of humanitarian crises, enabling crisis responders to make better-informed decisions. The Data Collector will support the production of ACAPS data products through secondary data review and data collection, ensuring that the analysis is based on evidence and meets the needs of humanitarian stakeholders. This position requires a proactive approach to data collection and analysis, as well as collaboration with team members to enhance overall data collection efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Collector will be responsible for monitoring developments related to humanitarian crises, gathering and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, and ensuring adherence to ACAPS guidelines for data collection. Specific duties include conducting monitoring of global political, economic, social, and humanitarian developments, preparing and submitting regular reports on data collection activities, collaborating with team members to share insights and best practices, and supporting other assigned tasks as needed. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and effective time management skills.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed a relevant university degree or be currently enrolled in a program related to Humanitarian Action, Social Sciences, International Relations, or international development. Familiarity with Excel or similar software is required, along with experience in secondary data review and desk review. Attention to detail, the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, and the capacity to meet deadlines are essential. Candidates should also possess strong teamwork skills and the ability to work remotely. Fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory, and any additional language is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
A completed relevant university degree or current enrollment in a program in humanitarian action, social sciences, international relations, international development, or related fields is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian crises and the analytical skills needed for effective data collection and analysis.

Experience:
The position is entry-level, meaning that while prior experience in data collection or analysis is beneficial, it is not strictly required. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with data review processes and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Experience in a multi-cultural environment and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in both Spanish and English is mandatory for this position. Additional languages are considered an asset, which can enhance communication and collaboration in diverse environments.
