About the Ukraine Programme:

Since the Russian invasion of 24th February, Ukraine has been subjected to heavy artillery bombardment, missiles, and air strikes, as well as the use of landmines and cluster munitions. The scale of the conflict and the use of high impact and indiscriminate weapons requires an urgent and extensive response. MAG is in the process of establishing a formal presence in Kyiv following an initial assessment visit in April, and is coordinating with the relevant national authorities, national and international partners, and other key stakeholders to address the needs generated by the presence of explosive ordnance contamination.

You will have a wide variety of strategic responsibilities including Contract Management, donor liaison, people management, Security management, Capacity Building and Risk Management. This senior role will provide you with the opportunity to use your people management skills, leading a small team of international and national staff. You will also have the opportunity to use your skills in stakeholder management, to take a leading role in donor development, and working with a range of national and international actors.

About you:

To lead the work on the ground MAG will be looking for candidates with experience at a senior level of establishing operations and activities in an Emergency context and that are able to adapt to the complexities of working in a conflict environment. Experience of mine action programming is strongly preferred but not essential. You will also need excellent people management skills and the ability to manage support functions including HR, Administration, Logistics and finance.
