The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) is an international organisation tasked with promoting innovative, comprehensive and Sustainable migration policies. ICMPD Regional Coordination Office for Silk Routes manages a field presence in Baghdad, Iraq, where several projects are being implemented in cooperation with relevant ministries in the Government of Iraq.
The successful candidate will work as a Country Coordinator for Iraq and will be responsible for a portfolio that covers several areas of migration management such as: Capacity Building, legal and labour migration, migration and development including engaging with Iraqis abroad, integrated Border Management, awareness raising on migration issues, sustainable reintegration, etc.
The Country Coordinator works under the supervision of the Regional Coordinator – Silk Routes.

Job Description: The Country Coordinator for Iraq is responsible for the coordination of the implementation of the overall project portfolio in Iraq, ensuring coherence and daily coordination with senior level country counterparts in governmental, international and donor communities, as well as the civil society sector.
The Country Coordinator develops and maintains relationships with national stakeholders, partners and beneficiaries in Iraq and represents the organisation before the national authorities. S/he is responsible for the management of the ICMPD office in Iraq, as well as for steering the implementation of agreements reached with national stakeholders (MoUs, etc.)
The Country Coordinator, in cooperation with project teams, establishes and monitors the implementation of an ICMPD work plan for Iraq ensuring that adequate data and information is gathered for assessment and reporting. S/he continuously analyses the implementation of the ICMPD activities in the country, takes corrective action as required and assesses achieved results for quality and impact. S/he plans and coordinates communications activities and ensures that relevant reporting on ICMPDs activities in the country and results are timely and of high quality.
The Country Coordinator leads and supervises the country team consisting of the Country Assistant, ICMPD project teams in Iraq, and consultants, ensuring that the ICMPD team in Iraq works according to the project work plans and produces timely and qualitative outputs. S/he works closely with relevant ICMPD Units and coordinates work with the other Project Managers.
