Job Description

UNICEF Jamaica is launching a messaging-based project for the Mental Health of adolescent. This project requires a consultant to manage the implementation of Marketing and communication of the project for a short-term duration.

Location of Consultancy:  Kingston, Jamaica Duration:   3 Months Anticipated Start Date:   April 2021 Anticipated End Date:     June 2021 UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. How can you make a difference?

The Consultant will complete the following tasks:- KEY OUTPUTS

  • Creation of marketing and communication strategy covering the following: key insights about two-way communication with our target demographic; tone of voice, branding and naming of service; recommended content and materials to be produced; an advocacy component, including stakeholder, supporter and influencer Mapping; media and public relations; initial soft launch with word-of-mouth promotion; public launch on World Mental Health Day; and always-on marketing strategy for first 12 months of operation.
  • Creation of multimedia content and materials
  • Testing of strategy and material with youth focus groups and stakeholders.
  • Coordination of activities with U-Report Youth Council.
  • Under the guidance of the Communication Officer, support the development, drafting and posting of content to social media
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:-

EDUCATION ,KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • First degree in Marketing, Communication or mobile technology-related fields.
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in Digital Media and/or mobile messaging.
  • Familiarity with RapidPro an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience working with parents and adolescents, or in the health, education and non-profit sectors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of parenting and adolescent mental health issues.
  • Familiarity with popular and emerging mobile messaging applications and social networks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multimedia skills including graphic Design, photography and video production and editing.

RECOURSE:

UNICEF reserves the right to withhold all or a portion of payment if performance is unsatisfactory, if work/outputs is incomplete, not delivered or for failure to meet deadlines and completion of all mandatory trainings. Performance indicators against which the satisfactory conclusion of this contract will be assessed include: timeliness/quality of submission and responsiveness to UNICEF and counterpart feedback.

PROPERTY RIGHTS:

UNICEF shall hold all property rights, such as copyright, patents and registered trademarks, on matter directly related to, or derived from, the work carried out through this contract with UNICEF.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

Consultants and individual contractors are required to certify that they are covered by medical/health insurance.
