Job Overview:
The Construction Manager position at MSF is pivotal in overseeing all logistics activities related to construction and rehabilitation projects. This role involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring construction efforts to ensure they align with MSF's protocols and standards. The Construction Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Project Coordinator and Logistics/Technical Logistics Coordinator, to establish and review construction activities, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with safety standards. This position is dynamic and requires a proactive approach to support MSF's humanitarian and medical missions effectively. The Construction Manager will also be responsible for providing Technical Support and coaching to logistics staff, ensuring that all construction activities are executed efficiently and safely.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Construction Manager will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties, including:
- Planning, coordinating, and monitoring all logistics activities related to construction and rehabilitation in accordance with MSF protocols and standards.
- Collaborating with the Project Coordinator and Logistics/Technical Logistics Coordinator to plan, establish, and review all construction/rehabilitation activities, including budgeting.
- Ensuring compliance with MSF standards, protocols, and procedures in all construction/rehabilitation activities.
- Participating in project Design and development, ensuring that technical aspects comply with local construction practices.
- Coordinating purchase orders, checking materials in stock, and managing warehouse inventory control.
- Preparing budgets for construction/rehabilitation projects, processing invoices for payment, and anticipating cash flow for monthly payments.
- Providing safety equipment and ensuring compliance with safety standards for construction workers.
- Collaborating with the Project Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator, and HR Coordinator on HR processes for staff under responsibility, including recruitment, training, briefing, evaluation, and development.
- Following up and reporting on work progress and technical aspects, participating in monthly reports. 1

Required Qualifications:
The position requires several essential qualifications, including:
- A university or technical school diploma is essential.
- Desirable studies related to construction or engineering.
- A minimum of two years of experience in construction is essential.
- A proven understanding of MSF field logistics is essential.
- Proficiency in the project language is essential, which may include English, French, Spanish, or Arabic; knowledge of the local language is desirable.
- Computer literacy is also required to manage various logistical and administrative tasks effectively.
Educational Background:
