Job Overview:
The Communication Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the East Area Office of NRC by implementing internal and external communication initiatives. This position involves drafting, editing, and translating communication materials for various Media Platforms and social networks. The coordinator will work closely with the Communications staff of the Country Office and other area offices to ensure that NRC's communication strategies align with its advocacy goals. The role requires a proactive approach to developing communication products that effectively convey NRC's messages and enhance its visibility in the humanitarian sector. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with external partners and ensuring that communication efforts are compliant with NRC's policies and donor guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communication Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: developing and implementing NRC's communication strategy, ensuring adherence to NRC's policies, contributing to advocacy message formulation, and establishing contacts with external counterparts. Specific responsibilities include supporting the development of communication products in English, Ukrainian, and Russian, coordinating with external humanitarian partners, traveling to program locations to gather content, and supporting program teams with visibility materials. The coordinator will also craft creative products that highlight humanitarian needs, work closely with media colleagues, enhance communication skills within the NRC team, represent NRC in meetings, and provide Translation and interpretation as needed. Regular activity reports will be submitted to NRC management, and the coordinator will perform any other communications-related tasks as directed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts, ideally with an INGO or in media and communications. Documented results related to the position's responsibilities are essential. A relevant university degree is required, along with demonstrated skills in content gathering, storytelling, and interviewing. Candidates should have thorough knowledge and experience in managing Social Media accounts, drafting materials for traditional media, and photography and videography, including video editing. Strong analytical and computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications, are also necessary.

Educational Background:
A high level of education is required, preferably with a background in Journalism or a related field. Candidates should have a strong understanding of communication strategies and the ability to create compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

Experience:
Candidates should have a proven track record of working in Public Relations or similar roles, with experience in developing communication strategies and managing Media Relations. Experience in the humanitarian sector or with NGOs is a plus, as is familiarity with the context in Ukraine.

Languages:
Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian is mandatory, along with a working knowledge of English, both spoken and written. This multilingual capability is essential for effective communication with various stakeholders and audiences.

This position is open only to candidates who have the legal right to work in Ukraine, as NRC is unable to provide work permits or visa sponsorships.
