Job Description

Eligibility criteria Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Heads of the Accelerator Lab or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:
  1. Provide administrative support to communications and advocacy outreach activities of the UNDP Accelerator Lab Thailand
    • Provide logistical support to communications and advocacy efforts and campaigns e.g. by supporting the organizations of workshops, talk sessions, press conferences, as necessary
  1. Provide support to the development of the UNDP Accelerator Lab Thailand communication and advocacy materials
    • Draft press release, success stories, articles, key messages, and other advocacy materials
    • Maintain a database of Reference Materials and photo
    • Design and create social media content (infographics, videos, GIFs, social media cards, and other Digital Media work)
    • Increase visibility of UNDP Accelerator Lab Thailand through public website and social media
    • Undertake field visits to document UNDP Accelerator Lab’s work and success and produce beneficiary films from the field for advocacy
  1. Facilitate Knowledge Management and sharing
    • Contribute to the identification of best practices and lessons learned
    • Planning, design, and implementation of the learning and Knowledge Sharing aspect of the Lab
    • Work proactively with external partners and UNDP Thailand country office to identify opportunities for capturing and sharing knowledge, and disseminating information about progress and results
  1. Ensure effective administrative and logistical support for the achievement of the outcomes of the Accelerator Lab
    • Support National Project implementation activities according to UNDP workflows (including individual contract process, organization of forums, workshops, travel, etc.)
    • Be responsible for assigned correspondence and other administrative tasks including creating E-requisition
    • Assistance in proper control of supporting documents for payments and financial reports
  1. Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments: Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, communication, social science, economics, business Administration and other relevant areas.

Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in communications, knowledge management, innovation, or other relevant programmes; experience working with innovation driven organizations and knowledge in development challenges is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization;
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work in a fast pace environment;
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
  • Advanced IT skills are desirable, computer, web editing skills as well as proficiency photo and text editing are a must;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
