Job Overview:
The Chief of Party will lead and manage a potential 5-year supply chain system strengthening project in Uganda. This role is critical as it encompasses full accountability for the development, execution, and monitoring of the project, ensuring that all deliverables and results are met. The Chief of Party will be responsible for establishing a vision and technical strategy for the project, managing documentation and communication, and fostering relationships with clients and stakeholders. This position also involves contributing to business and resource development activities, which are essential for advancing MSH's mission and securing future projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Chief of Party will oversee the implementation of program activities, providing high-quality technical and strategic leadership, managerial oversight, and Administration of the project. They will serve as the primary liaison between MSH and the donor, ensuring that project objectives and deliverables are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of service quality. The Chief of Party will develop and execute project frameworks, performance monitoring plans, and annual work plans, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and MSH standards. They will manage project staffing and structure, mentor the project team, and implement Performance Management programs. Additionally, the Chief of Party will build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, track new business opportunities, and respond effectively to inquiries and concerns.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an MPH, MBA, or a master's level degree in a related field. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in Public Health or related areas is required. Demonstrated expertise in public health-supporting supply chains in Uganda, along with a strong understanding of public policy and government institutions related to supply chain management, is essential. Candidates should have proven leadership and management abilities, prior experience directing international donor-funded projects, and familiarity with USAID regulations and procedures. Strong strategic planning, visioning skills, and the ability to build relationships with senior-level colleagues are also required.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a master's level degree in public health, business administration, or a related field. This advanced education is crucial for understanding the complexities of health systems and supply chain management, as well as for effectively leading a significant project in Uganda.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in public health or related fields. Candidates should have a track record of successfully directing similar or larger international donor-funded projects, demonstrating their ability to manage complex initiatives and achieve project goals. Experience in the public Health Sector, particularly in Uganda, is highly desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is essential for effective communication with stakeholders, team members, and partners. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional local languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the ability to engage with diverse communities and stakeholders.
