The American Heart Association (AHA) is looking for a proven sales leader to fill the Associate Vice President Heart Challenge position in our Dallas regional office. This candidate will be responsible for directing and collaborating with internal staff, corporations, C-Suite executives, and community leaders to maximize Fundraising efforts for the Dallas area. Accountable for securing and managing top corporate accounts, securing six-figure sponsorships and personal gifts, identifying, and recruiting volunteer leadership, and for holding others accountable to their fundraising goals and objectives.

This position is charged with growing Dallas Heart Challenge from $6.5M to $10M through: Heart Walk, Cycle Nation and Field Day. Funds will be raised via corporate sponsorship, individual donors and point of sale campaigns in the Greater Dallas Area.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management, proven track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals.

  • Expanding the AHA’s reach into the philanthropic community of individuals to raise funds and awareness.

  • Support strategic planning and forecasting by maintaining trend and forecasting reports and Analysis.

  • Campaign volunteer leadership (event chairs) recruitment and management.

  • Revenue generation and volunteer management for sponsorships supporting Heart Challenge.

  • Identify, cultivate and secure multi-year six and seven figure sponsorships.

  • Conducting sales calls to generate new business resulting in sponsorship, peer to peer fundraising, personal gifts and Life is Why We Give (AHA’s point of sale campaign).

  • Manage/supervise assigned staff. Recruit, interview, hire, orient, provide training as appropriate, evaluate, Counsel, provide discipline as needed, and terminate as necessary.

  • Participate as a member of the Dallas Senior Leadership team.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Master’s preferred.

  • Must have at least 8 years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in a management capacity. This experience may occur within the5 years related experience.

  • Organization, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are a must.

  • Candidates must be results driven with the ability to multitask and must also be willing and able to travel within the assigned territory up to 75.

  • Ability to lead, guide and inspire staff and volunteers to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Ability and willingness to work irregular hours and attend meetings beyond the framework of the normal working schedule.

  • Demonstrated experience, skills or aptitude in sales and/or Marketing.

  • Skill in effective oral communications including conversing by telephone and conducting presentations to large and small groups.

  • Skill in effective written communications, including business writing, clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations and other narrative pieces.

  • Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
