General Background Established in December 1950, UNHCR is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect and assist refugees. In more than seven decades, UNHCR has helped more than 68 million people restart their lives. Today, UNCHR staff in more than 130 countries continue to help and protect millions of refugees, returnees, internally displaced and stateless people.

UNHCR has relocated several key functions from our Headquarters in Geneva to UN City in Copenhagen, including UNHCR¿s Private Sector Partnership Service (PSP) supporting UNHCR¿s growing engagement with the private sector in all regions of the world. This is a high priority area as we face a historic refugee crisis; and financial support and strong engagement of the general public and the private sector is more critical than ever before.

In 2018 the PSP Office covering Denmark was established. PSP Denmark is now doubling its size and is set to meet ambitious results in 2021 and beyond. One of our key priorities is to accelerate the Private Partnerships and Philanthropy (PPH) programme as there is significant opportunity to raise more funds and establish deeper partnerships with foundations, corporations and individual philantropists in Denmark.

To achieve this goal, PSP Denmark is hiring an Associate PSP Officer (PPH) to be responsible for the PPH Programme in Denmark and its continued growth. Reporting directly to the Head of PSP Denmark, we are seeking a dynamic, skilled and experienced team player who will contribute to our ambitious goals by raising funds and building partnerships with foundations, corporates and individual philantropists against the set  income and growth targets.

The Associate PSP Officer (PPH) is expected to work closely with the entire PSP Denmark team engaged in Fundraising and campaigns with the general public, with the Regional Representation and its Spokesperson for Denmark as well as with the PSP Headquarters team (primarily based in Copenhagen), PSP Europe, as well as global technical teams and the global PSP network as required.

UN City currently hosts 11 UN organizations with 1,500 staff representing more than 100 nationalities.

2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment The position will be part of UNHCR¿s PSP Denmark team and it formally reports to the Fundraising Officer. The tasks of the Associate PSP Officer (PPH) will be the following: - Further develop and provide overall strategic management on PSP Denmark¿s Private Partnerships & Philanthropy strategy in Denmark; - Develop sub-strategies for each prioritized income stream; - Gradually assume functional managerial role and align long-term strategy, annual plans, work plans, priorities and day-to-day activities for the growing number of PPH team members; - Further identify, cultivate and steward an expanding portfolio of foundations, corporate partners and individual philanthropists; - Draft and present compelling proposals to potential donors and partners, in close collaboration with global PSP colleagues; - Be responsible for account management cycles and ensure that all internal and external administrative steps are adhered to; - Act as the Account Manager for selected PPH accounts and ensure strategic direction, relationship management and oversight for global activities; - Complete accurate and timely submission of reports for internal management and partnership purposes, including annual income and expenditure budgets, re-forecasts, monthly indicators, and other reports; - Manage and further develop the CRM system pertaining to the PPH work; - Work closely with PPH network and key/senior UNHCR stakeholders to develop and lead engagement plans to build relationships with senior corporate leaders and philanthropy networks; - Perform any other related duties/tasks as required.

3. Monitoring and Progress Control - Contribution to PPH income growth and meeting targets; - Development of sub-strategies for identified income channels; - Expansion of pipeline and further elaboration of cultivation tools; - Solid PPH contribution management cycle, reporting and Data Management tools and processes in place; - Solid annual work plans for PPH area implemented and budgets adhered to; - Excellent work relations with partners and internal stakeholders.

4. Qualifications and Experience a. Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education) - Degree in Marketing/Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Development Studies or a related field.

b. Work Experience - Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with Undergraduate degree (equivalent of a Bachelor¿s); or 2 years relevant work experience with Graduate degree (equivalent of a Master¿s); or 1 year relevant work experience with Doctorate degree (equivalent of a PhD); - Relevant work experience with private sector fundraising and/or partnership management relating to corporations, foundation and other private sector donors in a not-for-profit organization, an international organization, large corporate, a marketing/fundraising consultancy firm or similar; - Proven track record of winning/negotiating and delivering substantial contributions/partnerships from companies, foundations or major donors; - Experience in account management and capacity to balance the needs of all stakeholders to achieve mutual benefit, ideally in the Danish market; - Experience within the fields of corporate social responsibility, strategic networking and stakeholder management, marketing, Strategic Communication, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, humanitarian philanthropy and philanthropic trends; - Access to a network of business contacts at senior management level in Denmark and an established network in the private sector fundraising in Denmark; - Experience with fundraising techniques with foundations, corporations and major donors; - Proven experience in preparing and developing plans for annual income growth and reaching targets; - Experience in handling donor visibility, joint partnership communication and recognition programmes;¿¿ - Experience with managing complex internal processes; ¿¿ - Experience with organizing events and high-level meetings. ¿ c. Key Competencies Required - Fluency in English and Danish; - Strong understanding of the Danish fundraising and partnership environment; - Strong representational skills; - Attention to details, high accuracy and results oriented; - Excellent communication skills, both written and orally, and strong interpersonal skills as a team player; - Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of donor information; - Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Desirable - Previous experience working within UNHCR, another UN organization or a humanitarian NGO; - Knowledge of UNHCR programmes and activities at field level.

Location: the successful candidate will be based with the team in the UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Conditions: this position is a full-time role starting from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday (40 h)
