Job Description

IMC Worldwide, Inc. is hiring up to 3 Associates for its US office based in Arlington, VA. These positions will be responsible for both leading and supporting on project management and Business Development activities. The right candidates will be adaptable, self-motivators, and willing to take on new tasks at short notice and in support of other colleagues. Required Qualifications

· 3-8 years’ experience in international development, humanitarian aid, emergency assistance, or similar sector.

· Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, International Development, Political Science, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant subjects.

· Technical and/or operational experience related to at least one of the following: infrastructure in the international development sector, data Analysis, ICT4D/Digital development, inclusive economic development, energy and environment, WASH, and/or monitoring and evaluation projects in the international development sector.

· Research and analysis skills – capacity to combine qualitative and quantitative data from different sources in a coherent and logical analysis.

· Experience preparing complex technical and financial project proposals (including technical approach, staffing, budget, and compliance requirements).

· Experience managing assignments for USAID, MCC, UN or other donors, including monitoring workplans and deliverable schedules, conducting quality assurance on deliverables, client and consultant invoicing, and budget monitoring.

· Excellent writing and presentation skills (comfortable presenting to different audiences ranging from field data inspectors and enumerators to government clients).

· High proficiency with full Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

· Must be willing to travel overseas for short term (2 – 4 week) assignments to support project start-up and/or implementation (contingent on Covid-19).

· Strong English language skills- writing, speaking and reading.

· Experience managing remote teams and interacting with clients and teams in different time zones and cultures.

· Ability to legally work in the USA.

Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s degree in a relevant subject.

· One or more years of international developing country experience.

· USAID experience strongly preferred, both in terms of proposal development and Program Management; Experience with other donors including MCC, United Nations, and other international development clients also preferred.

· Strong skills in the use of digital tools for project and knowledge management and collaboration, including use of cloud-based storage and webinar tools.

· Working knowledge of infrastructure in the international developing field related to vertical structures, transport, WASH, and renewable energy.

· Experience with the Design and usage of digital tools for Data Collection, validation/cleaning, and visualizations.

· Experience with user interface design/presentation of data for decision-making.

· Experience with responsible data, data security/protection, digital inclusion, and ethical data.

· Working knowledge of ODK and/or other data collection platforms strongly preferred; Working knowledge of statistical analysis, data transforms, and Data Analysis tools.

· Working knowledge of GIS and associated tools.

· Previous experience managing, tasking, or mentoring other colleagues.

· Language skills in Spanish, French or Arabic preferred.


Project Management (approx. 50%)

· Remotely manage assignments. Responsibilities include contributing to and reviewing assignment deliverables such as inception and final reports, cleaning, preparing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, liaising between the client and other team members to ensure common understanding of program objectives, monitoring progress against assignment workplans.

· Copyedit and format research reports, evaluations etc.

· Develop collaborative working relationships with donors (USAID, MCC, UN) to deliver expected assignment outcomes.

· Represent IMC and the broader team to clients, partners, and other stakeholders in a range of situations.

Business Development (approx. 40%)

· Conduct country and regional research and analysis on relevant topics to support proposal preparation.

· Lead on drafting technical approaches for USAID and MCC infrastructure proposals (including vertical and horizontal infrastructure, as well as WASH and Renewable Energy infrastructure).

· Assist with recruitment of staff and partners for proposals.

· Work closely with the Business Development Manager and other colleagues to prepare and review staffing, past performance, and financial materials for proposals.

· Negotiate, prepare, and review contractual documents related to implementing/consortium partners, including non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, Letters of Intent and sub-contracting agreements.

· Copy edit and format proposals.

· Maintain a broad understanding of trends and donor priorities in the international development sector through participation in industry events, pre-solicitation meetings, and business forecast calls and internal business development strategy meetings, as well as meetings with IMC’s partners.

Other Corporate and Administrative Tasks (approx. 10%)

· Conduct due diligence on all new external consultants and new partners in accordance with corporate procedure.

· Update and add new proposals, assignments, consultants, and partner entries on IMC’s Dynamics information management system, ensuring all entries are up-to-date.

· Liaise with relevant staff from IMC’s UK headquarters to ensure adherence to corporate safeguarding, privacy, business ethics, and other policies throughout the proposal and project management processes.

· Prepare, issue, and manage employment contracts for external consultants and subcontracts, including conducting due diligence checks, reviewing monthly timesheets and expense claims, and providing travel and other administrative support.
