Job Overview:
The Assistant MoovCoom HSS will be responsible for supporting the Health, Safety, and Security (HSS) department within NRC. This role requires adherence to the organization's core values of dedication, innovation, inclusion, and accountability. The assistant will ensure that all HSS documentation is properly scanned and archived on Team Site and SharePoint, assist in the finalization of HSS documents, and manage both electronic and physical archiving. The position also involves tracking NRC staff movements using GPS technology and maintaining communication for staff in various security levels. The assistant will manage HSS equipment, participate in inventory and procurement processes, and facilitate effective communication among field teams. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency of the HSS department and the safety of NRC staff in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all HSS documentation is scanned and archived on Team Site and SharePoint.
- Assist in the finalization of HSS documents and ensure their electronic and physical archiving.
- Scan HSS documents and share physical documents with designated supervisors.
- Track all NRC staff movements using TerraMar (GPS Tracker) in high-risk areas and via SMS/calls in lower-risk zones.
- Manage HSS equipment such as GPS Trackers, Thuraya devices, PowerBanks, Walkie Talkies, and physical maps.
- Organize and label physical document files as requested by the supervisor.
- Record the entry and exit of all HSS equipment.
- Participate in inventory and procurement of materials to enhance HSS operations.
- Facilitate effective communication and information flow for all field teams.
Required Qualifications:
- At least a BAC+2 diploma (BTS, DTS, DEUG II, etc.) in Social Sciences, Risk Management, Administration and Logistics, Project Management, Conflict Management, or Humanitarian Coordination.
- A minimum of one year of experience in health, safety, and security management, including staff movement management.
- Knowledge of archiving techniques or professional experience as an archivist in an administrative or humanitarian context.
- Previous professional experience or knowledge in complex and unstable contexts.
- Good understanding of the political, social, and security situation in Burkina Faso.
- Strong analytical, communication, and document writing skills related to HSS.
- Proficient in computer skills and able to establish easy contacts.
Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a BAC+2 level diploma in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Risk Management, Administration, Logistics, Project Management, Conflict Management, or Humanitarian Coordination. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of health, safety, and security in humanitarian contexts.
Experience:
The position requires at least one year of relevant experience in health, safety, and security management. Candidates should have experience managing staff movements and be familiar with the challenges faced in humanitarian operations, particularly in unstable environments. Previous roles in similar contexts will be advantageous.
Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, given the operational context in Burkina Faso. Proficiency in English or other local languages would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
