Job Overview:
The role of Asistente Técnico/a de gestión de casos de protección is crucial for supporting Emergency Response actions in the Urabá region of Colombia. This position focuses on Humanitarian Assistance and the delivery of essential services to internally displaced populations, individuals with international protection needs, and vulnerable migrants. The assistant will work daily to ensure that the organization's policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines are adhered to while implementing project portfolios according to action plans. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication with various stakeholders to ensure that the needs of the affected populations are met efficiently and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente Técnico/a de gestión de casos de protección will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines; supporting the implementation of project portfolios; organizing and executing tasks according to priorities and standards; developing knowledge in the area of specialization to provide effective Technical Assistance; preparing and developing required status reports for management; ensuring proper filing of documents; promoting ideas to strengthen the functions of the role; planning, coordinating, and implementing activities in line with protection principles; disseminating information about protection services to target populations; identifying and coordinating available protection services; accompanying individuals at high risk of rights violations through the case management process; actively participating in protection monitoring; conducting safe referrals to essential services; maintaining updated databases; applying and archiving tools for Data Collection and evaluation; preparing quantitative and narrative reports on implemented activities; supporting the achievement of project objectives and indicators; and providing inputs for context Analysis and documentation on needs and strategies for risk mitigation.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in humanitarian assistance, with knowledge and experience in technical fields relevant to the position. They should have experience working in complex and changing contexts, with proven experience related to the responsibilities of the role. A basic understanding of the English language is also required. Specific skills and knowledge include a university degree in Social Work, psychology, or a related discipline, understanding humanitarian and protection principles, and prior experience in implementing protection activities, community-based protection, and case management for internally displaced persons or those in need of international protection. Familiarity with age, gender, and diversity approaches, Data Protection, and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint) are also essential.
Educational Background:
A university degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the specific needs of vulnerable populations.
Experience:
