Job Overview:
The Asistente Técnico de Protección will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of community protection components in northern Honduras. This position requires prior experience in community-based protection or violence prevention, as well as collaboration with community leaders and organizations. The role involves establishing relationships with intervention communities, identifying key members for community platforms, and promoting protection and violence reduction initiatives. The assistant will also conduct vulnerability analyses, develop risk Mapping, and support community empowerment workshops, ensuring that protection initiatives are effectively implemented and documented.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish relationships with intervention communities, identifying key members for the formation of community platforms aimed at promoting protection and reducing violence.
- Implement vulnerability analyses and develop risk mapping in the community through observation, focus groups, and interviews with key informants and sessions with community protection committees.
- Support the Team Leader in developing materials to strengthen community members' understanding of basic protection concepts, violence prevention, and risk mitigation.
- Organize empowerment workshops for community members and protection committees.
- Guide community protection committees in conducting focus groups and informational sessions on protection issues.
- Identify individuals in need of protection according to NRC's established criteria for referrals to the case management team.
- Guide committees in developing community initiatives that yield protection outcomes.
- Maintain organized physical and digital files of all component records.
- Draft and present follow-up reports as requested. 1
- Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor to meet the objectives of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the humanitarian field, particularly with vulnerable groups.
- Experience working with community-based organizations.
- Knowledge and/or experience related to forced displacement issues.
- Basic knowledge of the English language (not mandatory).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of the political and social context of Honduras.
- Previous experience in assisting victims of violence.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. 1

Educational Background:

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in roles that involve direct interaction with vulnerable groups. Languages:
While knowledge of the English language is not mandatory, it is considered a valuable asset for this position. Proficiency in Spanish is essential, as it is the primary language of communication in the work environment.
