Job Overview:
The Alumni Talent Pool Program is designed to support leadership continuity and Emergency Response by fast-tracking qualified Mercy Corps alumni into temporary program and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) leadership roles. This initiative aims to match alumni with urgent needs in various countries where Mercy Corps operates, providing short-term placements typically lasting four months or less. The program offers senior program leaders the chance to engage in diverse experiences while maintaining professional and personal flexibility. Eligible alumni who have worked with Mercy Corps within the last four years can join the Talent Pool, gaining quick access to exciting opportunities and continued engagement with the organization, including professional development and networking.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the roles within the Talent Pool vary based on the specific position. For a Director" id="link" class="link">Country Director, the individual will manage programming, operations, and security, overseeing the country-based team and ensuring alignment with agency objectives. The Emergency Response Lead will handle all aspects of emergency response, including Resource Management and safety oversight. The Program Director will ensure program quality and adherence to Mercy Corps’ policies, while the MEL Director will develop and implement comprehensive MEL strategies and systems. Each role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including government entities and donor organizations, to ensure effective program delivery and accountability.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a BA/S or equivalent in a relevant field, with at least five years of field experience in international relief and development programs. A minimum of one year of prior experience at the director level is required, along with previous employment or consultancy with Mercy Corps within the last four years. Experience in leading teams and managing performance is essential, as is proficiency in at least one of Mercy Corps' working languages, with multiple language proficiencies being strongly preferred. For MEL roles, candidates should have experience in building and managing M&E teams and systems, while Country Director candidates should have significant senior-level leadership experience.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field is required for all candidates. Advanced degrees may be preferred for certain roles, particularly those at the director level, where specialized knowledge in Program Management, emergency response, or monitoring and evaluation may be beneficial.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant field experience in international relief and development, with at least one year in a director-level position. Experience with Mercy Corps is crucial, as candidates must have been employed or consulted within the organization in the last four years. Proven leadership experience, including team management and performance coaching, is essential for all roles within the Talent Pool.

Languages:
Professional proficiency in at least one of Mercy Corps' working languages (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian) is mandatory. Proficiency in multiple languages is strongly preferred, particularly for roles that require interaction with diverse stakeholders in various countries.

The positions within the Alumni Talent Pool are temporary, typically lasting between one to four months, with competitive salaries and benefits provided during assignments.
