Job Description

  Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task Under the direct supervision of the Senior Finance Associate the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
  • Assists in maintenance of financial records and monitoring systems to record and reconcile expenditures, balances, payments, statements and other data for day-to-day transactions and reports;
  • Prepares recurring reports as scheduled and special reports as required for budget preparation, audits or other reasons;
  • Prepares detailed cost estimates and participates in budget Analysis and projections as required;
  • Assists in processing of entitlements, issuance of contracts and maintenance of various personnel records and files;
  • Prepares correspondence and reports, as required, on general administrative and financial tasks.
  • Assists in the preparation of office budgets applicable to staff and servicing costs and maintains budgetary control records.
  • Assists in requisitions of office supplies and equipment locally and abroad and arranges for control of distribution and maintenance of appropriate inventory records;
  • Process procurements of goods and services of amounts up to US$4,000
  • Prepare correspondence with internal and external parties as required
  • Administer office supplies
  • Photocopy and scan documents
  • Prepare excel spreadsheets with analysis of financial transactions
  • Prepare reconciliation of bank and other accounts
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments: Type of Degree: University degree in Public Accounting or Business Administration.

Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience, including in the areas of accounting, finance, administration or audit.
Language skills:
  • Spanish(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge
Area of expertise: Crisis and Conflict Prevention, mitigation, resolution and reconciliation Area of expertise details:
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Data Management).
