Job Overview:
The Partnerships Manager will work under the supervision of the Grant and Partnerships Coordinator to enhance and diversify SI's partnerships, primarily with national NGOs. This role involves close collaboration with various teams, including Grant, MEAL, support, and program teams, to oversee the capacity building of local partners. The manager will evaluate progress, lead capacity assessment exercises, and create and implement tailored capacity strengthening plans. The position is crucial in addressing the challenges posed by a large number of local partnerships and the diverse issues each presents. The manager will need to work autonomously to develop strengthening plans and will prioritize implementing the partners' capacity-building plan, closely monitoring partners' deliverables, and improving inter-departmental coordination in the initial months of the role.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement capacity-building plans for local partners.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of partner progress and provide feedback.
  • Lead capacity assessment exercises to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Grant, MEAL, support, and program teams to ensure alignment in partnership strategies.
  • Maintain close communication with local partners to foster strong relationships.
  • Monitor and report on the deliverables of partners to ensure compliance with SI standards.
  • Adapt capacity-building strategies based on the evolving context in Sudan.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for partners to enhance their operational capabilities.
  • Support the Partnerships and Compliance Responsible in ensuring adherence to donor requirements and compliance standards. 1
  • Engage in regular coordination meetings with various departments to streamline partnership efforts.

Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as humanitarian response, international cooperation, or development studies.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with an INGO in a grant or partnership role is required.
  • Experience with Solidaritès International is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in capacity building and training development.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and donor procedures.
  • Excellent relationship management and partner engagement skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively.
  • Strong oral and presentation skills.
  • Adaptability to work in multicultural environments.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as humanitarian response, international cooperation, or development studies, to qualify for this position.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of experience in a similar role within an INGO, particularly in grant management or partnership development. Experience with Solidaritès International is highly valued, as is familiarity with the context of Sudan and capacity-building initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic and French is considered an asset, enhancing communication with local partners and stakeholders.

The position is a short-term contract with a duration of six months, starting on December 15, 202
  • The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 2,310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 750 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the assignment location. The organization implements a break system, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates receive a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in N'Djamena are described as very good, with access to various restaurants and cafes, although field bases may present more basic living conditions.
