Job Overview:
As a Senior Investment Specialist at ADB, you will play a pivotal role in leading the origination, development, due diligence, approval, and implementation of private sector transactions utilizing third-party funds. This position is situated within the Private Sector Investment Funds and Special Initiatives Division of the Private Sector Operations Department. You will be responsible for conducting industry research to identify fund management teams in Asia that align with ADB's private equity investment strategy. Your role will involve leading due diligence processes, risk analysis, and structuring loans and equity investments. You will also be tasked with negotiating and completing fund documentation, preparing technical assistance papers, and leading fundraising activities. Additionally, you will supervise junior staff and ensure compliance with investment strategies and safeguard requirements, while also monitoring fund performance and actions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Investment Specialist include leading project processing and management, conducting industry research, undertaking due diligence and risk analysis, managing relationships with fund managers, analyzing potential fund investment opportunities, drafting internal proposals for ADB's Investment Committee, overseeing internal approvals processes, negotiating fund documentation, preparing technical assistance papers, leading fundraising activities, serving on advisory boards, attending investor meetings, executing co-investment transactions, and ensuring compliance with investment strategies. Furthermore, you will lead and contribute to knowledge sharing sessions, draft and review project and policy papers, participate in country teams for planning and programming, supervise team members, and provide ongoing learning and development opportunities for reporting staff.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the Senior Investment Specialist position, candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in finance, engineering, business, or related fields, or a University degree with at least 5 years of specialized relevant experience. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, including international experience in multiple countries, and expertise in emerging market financing, preferably in Asia and the Pacific. Proficiency in oral and written English, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to initiate and complete deals are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work effectively with large, culturally diverse teams.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree or equivalent in finance, engineering, business, or related fields. Alternatively, a University degree combined with at least 5 years of specialized relevant experience is acceptable. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of investment strategies and financial instruments used in private sector transactions.

Experience:
Candidates must have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, with a strong emphasis on international experience working in various countries. Experience in emerging market financing, particularly within the Asia-Pacific region, is highly desirable. This level of experience is necessary to navigate the complexities of private sector investments and to effectively lead teams in executing transactions.

Languages:
Proficiency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is critical in drafting proposals, conducting presentations, and collaborating with diverse teams. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the Asia-Pacific region.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term appointment for an initial period of 3 years, with the possibility of extension for up to 2 additional years, conversion to a regular appointment, or termination at the end of the initial period based on ADB's needs and the candidate's performance. The role is full-time and requires relocation to Manila, with all reasonable relocation expenses covered.
